Frequently Asked Questions
Boudoir photography is the art of tastefully capturing images with an air of sexiness. It generally involves a certain level of undress (either lingerie, loungewear, other intimate apparel, or nothing at all). My style of boudoir photography is a bit more impressionistic than others — I mostly use natural light to create artful, intimate portraits of women that are meant to embrace your sexuality, independence, femininity, and capture your personality.
A boudoir photography session is about feeling beautiful and empowered. It’s about feeling great in your own skin and in who you are as a woman. Sometimes it’s also about seeing yourself through the eyes of someone who appreciates and celebrates the beauty and spirit of women. In the words of Dita Von Tease: It’s not about seducing men, it’s about embracing womanhood. Feeling beautiful never goes out of style.
Whatever you feel great in! Most clients opt for some form of lingerie: a bra and panty set, bodysuit, corset, silk robe, stockings, your partner’s favorite work shirt, or nothing at all! The most important thing is that you feel beautiful and comfortable. In a 1.5 hour photo session, we will have time for up to 3 “looks” or outfits. Once you’ve completed the booking process with me, you will receive a detailed guide that will help you with preparations and wardrobe considerations, including my favorite places to shop. I’m also happy to consult with you before your shoot if you have any questions.
Professional hair and makeup can be provided. However, you do have options. Let’s talk.
A professional mani/pedi always looks best; but we are totally fine with clean neutral nails for both hands and feet.
Women are gorgeous, sexy and stunning in every age and stage of their life, and I love showing them just how much! In fact, LOTS of my clients come in to work with me BECAUSE they are celebrating a big milestone birthday and want to celebrate themselves in this age through a sexy boudoir photoshoot. A beautiful mindset is timeless, and age is really just a number – to celebrate being alive, vibrant, sexy. So the long-short answer is: it’s NEVER ridiculous to want to embrace your sensuality and to celebrate YOU, whether you are in your 20’s to your 60’s and beyond. Plus, mature boudoir photography is very much a thing and I am proud to offer it.
Yes! There are a wide variety of poses that I use tailored to different body types and sizes, ranging from subtle to irresistibly alluring. I will coach you the entire time on how to position your body, what to do with your hands, and where to look for your most flattering angles.
We have so many poses for different body shapes and sizes. Some subtle and some totally sexy. You’ll become so comfortable that you’ll be adding your own body language that will make each photo unique to your personality. We promise you don’t have to worry about this at all.
There are options for the session. Some clients like being photographed in their homes, which lends a sense of intimacy and comfort to the shoot (not to mention having ALL your wardrobe right there with us. Let’s talk.
Your shoot is highly private. Once your hair and makeup are complete, the stylist will leave the studio. Only you and I will be present during the shoot.
Never! I consider all images to be private, and they will not be utilized on our website or social media platforms unless you provide written consent to do so.
The hair and makeup processes are highly interactive. This ensures there are no surprises, and you will absolutely adore the final result.
Yes! You are welcome to bring one friend to your portrait session for support & encouragement. I do ask that your friend not interfere with the shooting process (directing your posing, shooting over my shoulder, touching up your hair in between shots, etc.) as this becomes distracting for all of us.
Because every session is customized, I ask for a phone consult to go over final pricing and details. My session fee is $295. Albums start at $1200 and digitals start at $1250. Most clients spend between $1395- $3595 total, including albums and/or digitals.
I know you’re excited to see your photos right away – and I’m just as excited to show them to you. Your Photo Reveal Ordering Session will be within 2 weeks of your photo shoot. This is where you will make decisions on which photos you love and want to purchase for your collection, luxury album – or perhaps which one you might blow up to put on your bedroom wall. Your finished product (depending on what you order) will arrive between 2 and 4 weeks after the order is placed.
All of your images will be available via my website. The images are secured in your own personal gallery that is password protected. The images and password are available for 4 weeks and after that time, both are scrubbed for your data privacy.
I recommend to have your shoot date scheduled at least 2 months prior to needing the finished product in-hand. Your photo reveal appointment will be approximately 2-3 weeks after your photo session, and your finished product (depending on what you order) will arrive between 2 and 4 weeks after that. For weekday availability, you should email me to schedule at least two months in advance. Fridays & Saturdays are the most popular time slots and book up the quickest (since you’ll be all glammed up you can make a night of it) and often book out 3-4 months in advance. So, DON’T WAIT to contact me! It’s never too early to get on my schedule.
Ideally I would want to do your session 6-8 weeks from when you want your album/prints in your hand! So if you are getting married in August and want this as a wedding gift, plan to do your session in May to early June to allow time for your products to come in. I am currently scheduling 2 months out, so it is never too early to start planning!
To book your session, I require a 50% deposit of the total cost of your session. This deposit is non-refundable, but it can be transferred to another date free of charge. If you do need to cancel or reschedule, please provide 48 hours advance notice. Cancellations under 48 hours and/or multiple rescheduling requests are subject to an added fee. If there is an emergency, I will work with you to reschedule.
